Jorge Perez Evelyn in Brazil, March 24, 1976

During the success of "Corrientes de Lujo"in 1975, the Brazilian producer Mr. Hugo de Freitas visited Jorge Perez Evelyn to see the show and invited Evelyn to have a press conference in Rio de Janeiro to test how the press was reacting in a country filled by female impersonators. From there was going to be discussed the possibilities of the producer to set up a musical revue in style with Evelyn starring the musical. Jorge Perez was very excited just  remembering that Brazil was the land of success for his mother and grand mother ( both actresses).
Jorge left Buenos Aires to Brasil just in time before the military dictators took over the government in March 24, 1976.

Funny memories about this trip was that the producer asked Jorge Perez to arrive to the airport as Evelyn. During the fly, 45 minutes before landing Jorge Perez opened his makeup case and got ready to the arrival as Evelyn. The flight attendants noticed the change from Jorge Perez to Evelyn and they commented between them " We have a transvestite aboard" and the other graciously answered: "Great, happiness for the passengers"...( in Portuguese language it sounds much more funny)...

At the arrival at Galeao Airport, Evelyn was a bit concerned about immigration ( a normal feeling coming from Argentina, a country of persecution in that sad time). But it resulted very smooth and fast and finally breathed when he saw the producer waiting with photographers outside and the reporter of a very famous Magazine called "Fatos e Fotos" GENTE. 

There started the first journalistic interview...they continued taking pictures walking in Copacabana next to the beach, Evelyn with his mother and Rodolfo his hairstylist and partner in life.   

Evelyn ( or Jorge Perez) was very tired for the trip and another set of photos was appointed for the next day, when more photos were taken also a note for the cover of the Rio Newspaper was completed. Few days later, Jorge Perez Evelyn continue the trip to Caracas, Venezuela.

Evelyn, the catch is the small difference ( O que atrapalha e a pequena diferenca)

In exchange of the tourists we sent to Buenos Aires, Argentina is sending us this dazzling blonde named Evelyn. The catch is the small difference.
"She is blonde, tall , slender, falls in charm and makes traffic stop".
